Hi James,

Have you made sure that your infrared adaptor is actually installed in
XP?

If it's a USB device, usually you will hear a sound if you plug it in
when the system is running.  But nevertheless, you do need to make sure
that you have Windows XP drivers for it.

And perhaps asking granny about eggs, but are you remembering to
activate the Infrared on your phone?   I have to select infrared on my
Nokia, press OK, and then the phone says "Infrared Activated" on the
screen.

After that, if I move the phone in front of the USB infrared device, the
PC makes a sound, and a messages pops up telling me that it's found a
Nokia within range.
