Absolutely! couldn't agree more. Make sure your system is behind a firewall
and make sure that you have the latest anti-virus software and virus
definitions. You may also wish to manually obtain any critical windows
updates before parting with your dial-up service or connecting to the
broadband service.

If you don't do these things, you connect to your high speed service at your
peril! and I don't think I'm being over dramatic, or am I?

Get a firewall right now! Get spf.exe from www.jfwlite.com. Install it
before you hook up your high speed.
