Richard, Are there any settings that you tweaked in Disk Keeper?

I've just installed the 30 day trial and out of the box its made no difference to the time word takes to open.

It's a sort of automatic defrag process, to which you can add other bits of software which claim to keep you speeded up. I wondered, at first, whether
it was worth the money, but certainly believe that it was, particularly as
my system has become increasingly full of stuff!

Richard, Do you know what Disk Keeper does that makes the difference?

I found that purchasing DiscKeeper made this process virtually instant on
my
laptop, rather than taking about 7 seconds.

Take a look at Word's Tools: Templates and Add-ins, and see what you
have in the way of add-ins which might not be required.

Hi all, Word 2003 takes at least 10 seconds to open or close any
document on my desktop. does anyone have any ideas how I can speed
this up? I've got plenty of RAM, disk space and a fast processor. No
other program takes so long.
