Only thing I would like to do is have some sort of festival for the spring of
2019 for the animals program. Robert, Jared, and I talked about some fun things
that we can put on so I'm not quite sure how much money is allocated for
concerts and venues but I would like to at least budget some money for this
Festival

Subject: [acweboard] City of Austin Allocation
Hi All
We have been allocated $14,951 for our City of Austin Cultural Contract. That
is a small increase from what we received last year. We will soon need to
submit a revised budget. Unless anyone has other thoughts, we will probably
submit a budget roughly the same as last year. Some things to consider:
-Do we anticipate having the business manger hired this fiscal year?
-Are we still planning to buy a trailer this fiscal year?
-With no assistant conductor, we will need to put $500 toward something else.
-We likely won't be doing more acoustic upgrades. Do we plan to buy some more
percussion or other equipment? Last year we spent just under $3000 on
percussion equipment and the new podium. We spent about $3300 on the acoustic
work. All of that money was matching funds, so we can put it toward pretty
much anything we want this year. We could put it toward the trailer.
Alexis, I will go over this stuff with you at some point soon. Maybe Tuesday
rehearsal.
I heard reports about a decrease in arts funding available this year. Also,
more applicants were eligible for funding. Some applicants were looking at
cuts from the previous year, including extreme cuts in some cases. I
understand the city pulled in money from other sources as well as did some
tinkering with the funding formula. Not sure how most fared, but we ended up
better than I would have expected.
