Jessica, I got yours about 2 minutes after you sent it.
We have 8 names on the list, but I am on their twice, so really 7 people.
This system is fairly featureless from the users' end. It does archive
messages, which is good. There are a handful of basic admin controls. We
can set the list to be moderated. We might do that if we choose to use
this for the whole band list. We can also set it so only certain people
can post. That would be easier than moderation.
As far as I can tell, there are only two ways to subscribe. One is via the
email I sent you all. The other is to go to the Freelists web site and
search for a group. It doesn't look like there is a way of blocking
outsiders from joining the list, but it also doesn't look like it would be
easy for someone to just stumble upon it. The confirmation process and
other measures should help prevent spambots from joining. If someone we
don't want joins the list we can remove them.
