Westminster emailed me directly and asked if the brass quintet can perform
a Christmas concert for them in December. I suggested our brass quintet
play for them on Mon Dec. 14 because that was one of the dates ACWE listed
as a confirmed concert date. Should our brass quintet play for Westminster
on Dec 14 under the ACWE umbrella? Will other ACWE ensembles be performing
for Westminster on Dec 14?
However, if ACWE has enough group(s) performing on Dec. 14 at Westminster,
then I will work with Westminster to schedule another Christmas concert
date for the brass quintet to perform.

heard back from Zilker yet regarding our offer of small ensembles;
sometimes it can be a little tricky to get answers from them. Once you

Hi brass (and percussion) players!
The Austin Civic Wind Ensemble is looking for small ensembles to play at
various venues this fall. Below are the ACWE Holiday concert dates so far:
- November 28 - Zilker Christmas Tree Lighting - the Sunday after
Thanksgiving is the traditional time. We have reached out to the
organizers and expect to hear back from them in September.
- Friday, December 10 - Unity Church of the Hills- call time and start
time TBD.
- Sunday, December 12 - Covenant United Methodist Church - This still
needs to be confirmed.
- Tuesday, December 14 - Westminster Manor at 7:00 p.m. - Confirmed -
Indoor performance.
- Saturday, December 18 - Episcopal Church of the Resurrection - 6 or 7
p.m.
I am checking to see if you are interested in getting together to play
brass quintet music at one or more of the above venues. I have a lot of
fun quintet music, with and without percussion parts, and we can double up
on parts if necessary.
For a rehearsal location, we can rehearse at my house, either outside on
the back patio if the weather is nice, or inside my living/dining room if
the weather is not nice. I live near the intersection of Hwy 183 &
Anderson Mill Rd.
Rehearsals can possibly be on Monday nights from about 5:45pm-7pm if that
day/time works for everyone, starting Monday 10/18/21. (Some of us also
play in the Austin Brass Band that rehearses on Monday nights starting at
7:30pm)
Please reply this week let me know if you are interested and I'll send you
directions to my house!

As I mentioned in my last email, we are assessing member interest in
getting together smaller ensembles. The hope is that these groups will
rehearse this fall and perhaps play for some of ACWE's holiday concert
