Hi All
Austin Symphonic Band is suspending all in-person activities through July
2021. See message below. They are waiving dues, but suggesting that
members can still pay dues as a contribution to the band. I think this
would be a good option for us too. Even if we are not operating, we still
have some ongoing expenses, mainly our library storage and insurance.

*Suspension of 20-21 Season*
*The Board of ASB has voted to suspend all in-person Austin Symphonic Band
activities through July 2021.* The Board will meet again in January 2021
specifically to re-assess any potential in-person opportunities for Spring
2021. Regular quarterly board meetings will continue online.
The results of the ASB COVID-19 Member Safety Survey served as the
foundation of this decision. You may view the survey highlights and a link
to the complete results below. Our strategy is consistent with the majority
of community arts groups' plans for the following year.
*Dues Payments Waived*
*Due to the suspension of the ASB 20-21 Concert Season, the Board has
approved a pause in dues payments.* If in-person activities resume, the
Board will assess partial dues at that time.
Members may still choose to contribute their dues as a donation to support
the band’s current and future operations. If you would like to do so,

We will present two virtual concerts this fall, similar to the content we
created for the 4th of July using archival recordings and images. We will
also continue to share videos, photos, and member spotlights on social

content from ASB members’ chamber groups, micro-bands, music studios, and
any other appropriate music-related content on ASB platforms.
