Sure. They did have it at 6:00 originally, but 6:30 is fine and will be closer
to dark. I've updated the Facebook event. I'm just using ACWE pictures as the
banner (not a graphic) since so much seems to change for these concerts!
Thanks,
Jessica

Hi Jessica
Can we adjust concert time for Rattan Creek to 6:30. Back of my mind I think
we told the band 6:00 concert time last night.

Hi Ellen-
I've tried to find a time in June that we could make the flute performance
work. Unfortunately the park facilities are rented for most of the month
with various graduation events and parties. We'd love to have you come out
for that at a later date though, if you'd be interested.
Is there anything else you need from me to lock down the July 4th concert?
And is 6:30 still a good time, with an hour for set up? We'll have the
chairs already set out for you.

I’ll take a look at our calendar and see what we can come up with. That
pavilion tends to book up with graduation parties that month, but I’ll
see if we can snag a spot.

One more question. Do you have any slots open for a flute choir
performance in June?
I still need to talk to the flute choir before committing. I am
looking for possible dates.

Hello Christine,
I checked times with the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble board.
The board is interested in a 6:30 concert on July 4. Would
this work for you? We would set up 45 to one hour before
concert time.

would work.

We can absolutely make the evening work. What time
were you thinking? Fireworks are a big deal in this
neighborhood since they're legal here, so people will
likely start heading home when it gets dark.
Would you like to come to the park and do a short walk
through to choose a spot? If we're far for you to
come, I can always do that with Stephanie since she
lives here in the neighborhood. We have that stage
area you played on at Christmas. It will fit most of
the group but some may need to sit around the front of
it. The park is at our disposal, so I'm happy to
accommodate whatever works best for you. We have lots
of open lawn, but those areas are not covered. We also
have lots of trees for shade on that side of the park.
There is a road that pulls right up near that stage
pavilion and we can mark off the curb there with cones,
to reserve access for you. We also have plenty of
chairs we can use.
I'm really looking forward to this! The neighborhood
is going to love it.

Good Evening Christine,
I am wondering if there is any possibility of doing
an early evening concert for Rattan Creek. Please
let me know if your neighborhood would consider this.
The band would enjoy performing for your
neighborhood. Here are some considerations for the
performance.
• We currently have 50 to 60 members playing. We
will need flat to close to flat space that will allow
for this many performers.
• Since we are playing in the summer covered space or
space with shade would be preferred and greatly
appreciated.
• We will need access for unloading and loading
percussion equipment. We use a trailer to carry the
equipment.
• If it is possible to provide chairs for performers,
this would be great. If not, performers could bring
their own chairs.
• Our Fourth of July concerts last about an hour.
• PA or amplification is usually not needed since we
are a large group.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

This sounds wonderful! We really enjoyed having the
quartet come out for the holidays.
I've checked with our park facilities manager and he
has given the okay to reserve the stage. We have a
parade that morning that starts at 10 and goes about
45 minutes. It ends at the park, so it would be
perfect to have you follow that if it works timewise
for you. It will also beat the worst of the heat.
You'd go on around 11 or 11:30. I'll also see if I
can get the Kona Ice Snow Cone truck, and maybe a
lunch truck or two, to come out.
As far as soliciting tips goes, of course! I'd also
be happy to promote a donation link, if you have one,
in all of our social media event info.
Let me know of anything else you'd need from my end.
I'm really excited about this!

Good Evening Christine ,
Let the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble make your Fourth
of July a musical one. We are available to perform
for Rattan Creek Fourth of July celebration.
We are the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble, a 60 to 70
piece community band of both professionals and
amateur musicians that performs high quality music
to Austin and surrounding communities. We are the
band that provides music for the Zilker Park
Christmas Tree Lighting to make it a memorable
event. In addition we have performed at different
venues around the Austin area.
Our patriotic concerts will bring memories of the
local band playing marches on a town square on a
warm July night. The following link will give you
a sample of music that we have played in previous
years for Fourth of July concerts:
http://tubamike.com/acwe-patriotic/
Stephanie Pektas recommended that I contact you.
Normally we charge between $1,500 to $2,000 for an
hour Fourth of July concert. Since we are just
getting back together as a group after a long
hiatus with Covid, we are willing to perform the
concert with the understanding that the band can
solicit tips from audience members.
Please let us know if you would be interested in
hiring us for your Independence Day celebration.
We would appreciate the opportunity to provide
music to the Rattan Creek Community.
