BSPP vs NPT [male fittings for direct connection to a 3d printed aluminum part]
Hello! My name is Hyunsoo Yoo, and I'm a Uni student in Seattle, Washington.
I've been designing a liquid engine for a while now, and have decided to 3D
print it out of aluminum.
I am currently in the process of deciding if I should tap 1/16 npt or 1/8 bspp
directly onto the engine for thermal/pressure data collection.
The ideal connector would be a 1/16 bspp [iso parallel with gasket] to a 1/8
swagelok or compression fitting, but I have not been able to find it.
Npt sounds alright to me, but because I've heard many stories where the threads
got ripped off or leaked, I've been hesitant.
I'm wanting to keep the direct tap fittings on the engine as small as possible.
Please let me know if you think there are better alternatives than 1/16 npt.
