And yet, still probably better for the atmosphere than lighting a tire on fire with laughing gas. 

Also, don't forget that the chlorine in AP mostly ends up as hydrochloric acid (HCl), so the exhaust plumes of most non-trivial solids are acidic.

(And if they're still burning at high altitude, the chlorine content is bad for the ozone layer too. Not an issue for burns lower down, because HCl is so reactive and so soluble in water that little or none makes it up into the stratosphere. Just as well, since volcanos put out a lot of it.)
