Dear all,
in 2011 and 2012 there had been HPR-launch days in the Scottish
Highlands allowing maximum altitudes up to 83kft / 25 km. (' The Big
Range 2012 Launch Campaign ')
In case memory serves right, this campaign was organized by some
members of a UK rocketry group and supported both by the United Kingdom
Rocketry Association and the Scottish Aeronautics & Rocketry Association.
During the last years I did not hear anything about similiar events to
be conducted in Scottland:
- does anybody know, if a similiar launch day will be conducted in 2019 ?
- in case no official, public launch day will be planned: eventially a
single launch might be possible, after applying for it ? (Most likely
several permissions had to be asked for: owner of the land,
'air-space-authority', fire-mashall....: Which organisation will be
right to initiate the formal process needed to realize launches up to -
lets say - 83kft / 25 km ? )
Our intention would be to launch preferably bipropellant rockets (LOX /
LCH4 , LOX / LH2 or H2O2 / Kerosene) - it truely would be great, in case
this opportunity still would be open.
BTW: following which rationale the max.altitude has been set to 25 km ?
Under which boundary conditions greater altitudes might be possible ?
Thank's alot for your advice inadvance !
Peter
