I have never added lube to the teflon on my NPT junctions, and I have not
experienced galling on those joints. Perhaps I just over-apply the tape? It
is also possible that I don't disassemble my joints often enough to notice
any galling. McMaster now sells a teflon tape with a nickel alloy lube
mixed in. I have just started using it around my facility, and it seems
fine.
Swagelok does not suggest lube:

You need both Teflon tape and a lube on NPT SS threads or galling is
virtually guaranteed, I speak from years of experience.

Just normal tef tape will do on NPT threads. You *need *krytox on
stainless/stainless AN connections or else it will gall up. Swage fittings
have silver plating, so you don't need any.
