[AR] Open air injector plate

Hey I was wondering if anyone's run any injector test in open air
rather than in the combustion chamber. Seems to me it might be
interesting to see how the flame propagates from the pintle or injectors
in just open air?
Looking at these automotive injectors might make an interesting engine
motor from just one of these :) with a little annular gox flow around
the base of the injector.
I think I'll try one out in open air and see what it looks like.
Also I wonder if some of these high temp O2 sensors could be pressed
for service to control A/F ratio?
