Trial and error! (like any amateur :-)
Similar to any solid casting, you make an educated guess and add a little more.
After the grains were spun, there would be an X inch hollow core, followed by
gummy-mess, followed by good propellant. Once you get the hang of it,
centrifugal casting is a relatively efficient use of chemicals.
Plus... you can add excess liquids to achieve good rheology during mixing, then
bore-out the junk.
