Maybe consider a using "small" hole plus shear pins?

Subject: [AR] Venting holes
Hi,
After having a failure on the primary ejection charge because the hole was
too big (back up charge worked). I started to search the web for a vent hole
calculator (not av bay). But I couldn't find one. Does anyone have a formula
or calculator for this? The body tube is 610mm tall, 98mm in diameter and
the hole size was 6mm (24', 4' and 1/4' roughly).
