On Sunday the bird activity here in our yard on Compton Mt was amazing with
flocks of warblers and other migrants stopping to feed in the trees, shrubs and
in the stands of tall plants like goldenrod and iron weed. Many of them came
down to drink or bathe in the yard stream. Over the course of the day I counted
44 species, 11 of which were warbler species. The warblers I saw, and there
were probably more species that I missed, were Tennessees, Northern Parula,
Yellow-rumped, Black-throated Green, Blackburnian, Yellow-throated, my FOS Palm
Warbler, several Bay-breasted, Blackpoll, Black-and-white, and Ovenbird. I had
three species of vireo, White-eyed, Blue-headed and Red-eyed. Aside from
Bluebirds there were three other thrush species, Gray-cheeked, Swainson's and
Wood Thrush. Scarlet Tanagers were coming to the stream and Cedar Waxwings and
Rose-breasted Grosbeaks were constantly in motion as they flew from virginia
creeper berries to poke berries, to wild grape vines. Also present were Indigo
Buntings, and a Baltimore Oriole. The day's complete species list is at the
bottom of this message.

I managed to get photos of several of the species. They can be found at
