Hello All, This morning I officially started my fall bird count here on the mountain that I keep each year from late August to October. I had 35 species in the yard today with 10 of those being warblers. Those were 1 AMERICAN REDSTART, 4 female BLACKBURNIANS, 2 BLACK-THROATED GREENS, a pair of CERULEANS, 1 female CHESTNUT-SIDED, a pair of HOODEDS, 1 NORTHERN PARULA, 4 TENNESSEES, 1 WORM-EATING and 1 YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER. Along with the warblers was a female ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK, 8 SCARLET TANAGERS, 2 female INDIGO BUNTINGS and 3 BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS. For those interested photos of the female Cerulean, the Black-throated Green, the pair of Hoodeds and the Red-eyed Vireo can be found at http://www.pbase.com/mayhorn/aug_8_26_10 The complete list follows.
