Nice shot Dave. You’re right, the Cardinals always brighten up a winter day.
Our “common” birds had to dive for cover this morning when a Sharp-shinned hawk
swooped in and dived into the bottom of an azalea bush filled with birds. The
birds exploded from the top and got away. Lynda and I watched as a few moments
later the hawk walked out, looked around and flew off into the woods. This is
probably the same hawk whose wingtip prints I found in the snow the other
morning on either side of a patch of bird feathers. It had obviously taken what
looked like a Titmouse to the ground, picked off most of the feathers, then had
flown away. (no photo this time).
