Dad and I took a late evening walk in the Breaks Park yesterday to the
accompaniment of a varied list of birdsong. We heard the usual Robins,Great
Crested Flycatchers, Wood Pewee, Ovenbird, Wood Thrush,Red-bellied Woodpecker &
Hooded Warbler. As we walked down the Tower Tunnel overlook trail we were urged
by a Swainson's Warbler to "Drink, drink drink your beer"& as we approached the
overlook a Towhee said to "Drink your Teeeee". Well, each to their own,I
suppose! At the overlook we found a flock of 10 or so Waxwings devouring the
red fruit of the Serviceberry Trees. A Blue-headed Vireo was also seen there.
The usual Turkey Vultures & Crows were seen & a Scarlet Tanager was heard in
the distance. On the walk back, Swainson's was still singing about that beer
and a Red-eyed Vireo and Black&White Warbler joined the serenade. Dave
