The annual banquet of the Russell County Bird Club will be Tuesday, September 23rd beginning at 630 pm at Elk Garden United Methodist Church in Rosedale, VA. For the meal, we will meet at the parsonage next door to the church, then, walk over to the church for the program and gift swap in the fellowship hall. David Raines, a very knowledgeable and prolific birder from the Breaks area of Virginia, will be our guest speaker. As we have experienced from the past, great cooks from the church will prepare our meal which will consist of: Oven Roasted Chicken, Grilled Pork Loin, green beans, rice casserole, salads, rolls, desserts, soft drinks, tea, and coffee. The cost will be $16 per person and I will need a head count at least by Friday the 20th. Remember if you tell me you will be there you are responsible for the charge. We will have to pay the same amount to the church whether you show or not. You may mail me a check to: Janice Martin, 111 Dairy Circle, Bristol, TN, 37620 (make the check to RCBC) or you may send me an email at redwing@xxxxxxx. If you opt to do the latter you may pay at the church. We also have our gift exchange after the program. If you wish to participate bring a birdy gift for each individual participating. Please keep the cost under $10. This is meant to be fun, not a burden. Remember, anyone may come. You do not have to be a member of the club. Just make your reservation. The church is about 7 miles north of Lebanon. Turn right on Hwy, 80 and it is about ½ mile on the left. The address is 217 Hayters Gap Road, Rosedale, VA. Looking forward to a night of fun and great fellowship with some mighty fine people from our bird clubs around the area. Janice Martin, 423-573-1829 redwing@xxxxxxx
