The weather is looking good for the BCBC outing to Burkes Garden this Saturday
though it will be cold, which is a given for the Garden this time of year.
Dress warmly. It can be brutal up there. Those going should meet at the Hardees
in Tazewell at 8:00 a.m., earlier if you plan to have breakfast. From there we
will head to the Garden. If you have the small two way radios, bring them so
you can keep in touch with the rest of the group as we drive around the area.
Bring a lunch or buy it at the Burkes Garden store. It serves burgers, hotdogs,
etc.
Don't forget your binoculars and field guide. We usually see Golden Eagles,
Bald Eagles, Rough-legged Hawks, Red-tails, Kestrels, Horned Larks and others.

I also want to remind everyone that our monthly club meeting will be next
Monday evening at 6:00 at the Buchanan County Public Library. Josh and Joel
Meade will present a program about the upcoming Great Backyard Bird Count - Feb
18-21. We will have our pre-meeting dinner at the Peking Restaurant in the
Grundy Plaza.

See you at Hardees Saturday morning,
Roger Mayhorn
