The Russell County Bird Club has a field trip scheduled for Saturday, June 1, to the Cove area of Tazewell County. Target birds include Bobolinks, orioles, Blue-winged and Golden-winged Warblers, and other species. Last year's trip produced a late season Golden Eagle and a total of 60 species. You can read a trip report with pictures on the club web site at www.rcbirds.org <http://www.rcbirds.org/> . The trip will start at 8:15 from the Wardell Park & Ride just off U.S. 19 at the Little River bridge. This is just north of SwVCC and just south of Claypool Hill. Bring lunch, snacks, and drinks. There are no facilities on this trip. If you have one of the personal two-way radios, bring it so that we can communicate as we drive. There is virtually no walking on this trip. Everyone is welcome to participate. You don't have to be a club member. Jerry Thornhill RCBC President
