Thanks Larry for the gull photo. Ring-billed Gulls can now be found on several inland lakes. They have become a common sight on South Holston Lake, which lies across the VA/TN line. Ring-bills can often be seen in the parking lots of areas around Bristol. Occasionally they show up on golf courses, foot-ball fields, etc. here in Buchanan County. Back in the mid 70's one even showed up just after a storm in our garden here on Compton Mt.
