2nd Breeding Bird Atlas.
Hi Buchanan County Birders! I know that this trip would require a lot of
travel on your part, but I wanted to make you aware of this opportunity. We’re
always looking to get more volunteers out in southwest Virginia and you may be
looking for an excuse to go and bird in Highland County this summer! Consider
attending our weekend rally in Highland county to learn more about volunteering
with the VABBA2 and for the chance to bird some beautiful areas of VA.
Highland County Atlas Workshop and Rally 2018
Join us for a weekend of fun and learning in western VA’s beautiful Highland
county.
The VABBA2 will host a weekend of Atlas activities on June 8-10, centered in
the western Virginia town of Monterey. Weekend events will include a Saturday
workshop to learn more about Atlas data collection and web tools, as well as
Sunday morning field trips to Atlas priority blocks in the region. Attendees
will receive project training AND get to bird with Atlas project coordinators
on Saturday and Sunday mornings. To top it all off, our local Atlas
coordinator will host a Saturday evening cookout for weekend participants.
