I found FOS White-crowned Sparrows in the vicinity of the intersection of
Hayters Gap Road and Elk Garden Road yesterday. This is the spot near the
Mud Hole where there is a large winter population of White-crowneds. The
cattle company that leases the property has torn out a good bit of fence
line at this intersection. I wonder what the effect will be on the birds.

Subject: [bcbirdclub] Fall Migrants still on the move

Yesterday, after returning from a week long trip to the Outer Banks of NC, I
found 4 FOS White-throated Sparrows in the goldenrod and in our yard stream.
I suppose they are here for the duration of the winter.

Today my FOS Dark-eyed Junco (Snow Bird) came to the stream. Cold weather
can't be too far behind.
