Thanks for all of that information Bob. We knew of one Great Blue Heron rookery on that watershed. The one you mentioned makes two. We hike an old gas well road and it provides a variety of habitat. The first part of the road is definitely Redstart territory. I could not tell you how many Redstarts we saw along this bit of road. They were many---both males and females. Including one pair that were either building a nest or sitting on the nest. We also saw and heard a Catbird and Acadian Flycatcher. And just heard Hooded Warblers and I fairly sure a tanager. Also we've spotted at least one and perhaps two Great Blue Heron nests in the area. We spotted one last year and were able to see the young herons demanding food. Sure enough they are back again this spring. Bob Sweaney Pike County
