[bcbirdclub] Florida Birding Trip

Dan Kendrick, David Raines, and I traveled to central Florida to do some
bird watching and escape the cold. At Merritt Island National Wildlife
Refuge, we were searching for Florida Scrub Jays, a would be life bird for
David. We located 3 of the Jays on a horseshoe shaped trail about 1000 yards
from where we had parked. After snapping a few photos and witnessing a life
bird dance we continued along the trail. We we reached the other side of the
trail the Scrub Jays flew over to greet us. I asked David and Dan to ease up
near the Jays in an attempt to capture them, with the birds, in the same
picture. What happened next was amazing.
