Managed to locate the pair of Bald Eagles at John Flannagan Dam today. It would
be interesting to search by boat for their nest before the leaves appear. There
were 2 rafts of ducks on the lake. One with 35 individuals and the other with
42. Most of the ducks were Lesser Scaup with a few Ring-necked Ducks and at
least a couple of Greater Scaup. I also birded the Cranesnest River Campground
Road area and found 2 Barred Owls, 3 Wood Ducks, 3 Great-blue Herons, a
Kingfisher and a pair of Common Mergansers.
