Last night, just after dark, two Great Horned Owls began calling just across
the pasture near the neighbor's house on the ridge. One seemed to be in the
large hemlock tree in the cemetery, and the other sounded as if it were in
some trees on the opposite end of the house. They called for more than an
hour.
It was great hearing them. That's the first time in several years that I
have heard them here.
