Very pretty Daryl; haven't seen any in Greeneville.

But the Iris are in full bloom, in about a dozen different shades of beautiful
color.
The wild one however is a special favorite. Unfortunately, then bloom, then the
heavy wind/rain follows and thus have a short span to admire. Greeneville
hosts a very nice Iris Festival downtown in May.

Subject: [bcbirdclub] Showy Orchid

Sharp-eyed Daryl Owens spied this Showy Orchid (Galearis spectabilis) down in
our woods while we were birding last Friday. It's the first one I have noticed
in our woods, though from what I read I get the impression they are not that
uncommon.
