Weather:
It was a mostly clear day with a high sky by noon. The temperature was 56 F
at the start of the day then steadily rose to 80 F in the afternoon. Wind
was from the East at 10 mph, then was variable with wind up to 15 mph then
dropping off in the afternoon coming from the South at 5 mph.
Raptor Observations:
The day began with two Broad-winged hawks passing the tower at 8:17.
Hourly: 8-9 BW 10, 9-10 BW 20, 10-11 BW 7, 11-12 BW 3, 12-1 BW 8, SS 2, 1-2
BW 8, 2-3 BW 1, 3-4 BW 5, OS 1, 4-5 BW 6, OS 1
The usual early hawks at or below eye level to the east. Got higher until
probably out of sight by afternoon. Then started to come back down last two
hours. The scout group got to see a low kettle of 6 broad-wings and an
Osprey.
Non-raptor Observations:
Other birds: 1 grouse on Pinnacle Rd., Blue-headed Vireo, ravens and
red-tails. Monarchs 8
Predictions:
50% chance of rain with highs in the upper seventies. No one is scheduled
