FYI Roger, I voted for a pay cut!

Seriously I encourage all of you that can attend this event to do so. The
lake house is on private property and this is a rare opportunity. Those of
you that have visited middlebrook in the past know that standing on the side
of the road with a scope can be difficult. We will be on the opposite side
of the lake where the largest concentrations of waterfowl normally are (and
in a warm building with coffee!). If the Mayhorn's bring their luck I have
no doubt that several species will join us for lunch. There is plenty of
parking and handicap access. I will arrive at 8:00 A.M. and you are welcome
to join me at anytime you like.

I hope all of you can come!

You can expect to see plenty of these:

Subject: [bcbirdclub] Middle Brook Lake Outing

Hi BCBC Members,

Don Carrier has a friend who is a resident at Middle Brook Lake in Bristol,
TN. Thanks to Don, the friend, who is interested in becoming a birder, will
allow us the use of the community lake house there for a day of watching the
waterfowl, that are numerous on the lake at this time of year. Though not a
large lake, Hooded Mergansers, Redheads, Blue and Green-winged Teal,
Mallards, Black Ducks, Scaup, Ring-necked Ducks, American Coots and
sometimes Tundra or Mute Swans, Red-breasted Mergansers and Snow or Ross's
Geese are some of the species found there. The waterfowl can be seen from
inside the warmth of the lake house, which will accommodate around a hundred
people. Since the waterfowl will start leaving to migrate north later in
February, we decided that we should take advantage of the invitation as soon
as possible. The earliest time we can schedule an outing there is Saturday,
February 16th., the Saturday after our Burkes Garden outing. I will send out
directions and a time to meet later, but we need to get an idea of how many
would be interested in participating in this outing on the 16th.

We can arrange to have Little Caesar's pizza there that day at a cost of no
more than $5.00 per person (Bring your own drinks), or if that doesn't
appeal to you, you can bring your own lunch.

Please reply to this e-mail to let us know if you are interested in going,
and also indicate if you would want to have the pizza.

Thanks,

Roger Mayhorn

Your hard working president. (Even though you voted to double my salary from
last year, it didn't seem to help much. 0 x 2 =0)
