Congratulations to Tom Hunter on becoming the new Mendota Hawk Watch
Coordinator. The spot on Clinch Mountain at the fire tower has been manned for
several years by Ron Harrington of Bristol. With Tom's excellent vision and his
ability to spot birds when others can't, I'm sure he will do an excellent job.
Some of us of the BCBC should plan to go over and help out when the opportunity
arises. A birder can feel rather isolated upon the mountain by him/her self,
especially if there aren't many hawks passing through on that day.
We look forward to counting hawks with you Tom, and again Congratulations.
