It was a slow birding day today. I counted only 36 species here around the
yard with 5 warbler species, but the thrushes were really active in the Poke
berries and were getting the berries from the Virginia Creeper also. I
counted 9 Swainson's thrushes and 2 Veerys. A Red-breasted Nuthatch was back
in the yard again. The day's list is below.
The bird of the day was a Philadelphia Vireo that suddenly appeared on a
branch over my birding trail. Here is a photo.
