Ed and Michelle,
Congratulations on getting the Pine Siskins in the lowlands. I checked the club 
database and found that the earliest date we have for them is October 16th 2004 
at David Raines' house in the Breaks. We had one here on the mountain on the 
17th that same year. Most years the sightings start around October 22nd or 
23rd. This year our earliest date is October 27th here on the mountain.

  Buchanan Birders,

  Michelle and I had a group of 7 Pine Siskins at our feeder Sunday morning.  
This is a new yard bird for us as we normally don't get many higher elevation 
birds down here below 1,000 feet in elevation.  This might be a good year for 
northern birds to move further south.
