I birded Poplar Gap this evening and found several migrants and new arrivals.
Among them were a flock of thirty or so Bobolinks, several Solitary Sandpipers
and two Yellow-breasted Chats. Of course the usual Grasshopper Sparrows, E.
Meadowlarks and Field sparrows were present. No Blue Grosbeaks yet. On a sad
note, someone with the county decided that after years of neglect, that it
would be a good idea to mow some of the fields in the height of spring nesting
season!
