Hi Everyone, This past Monday fellow club member Sheldon Woods went into the UVA Hospital at Charlottesville to have some stones removed from his liver bile duct. He had previously had his gall bladder removed. This is a procedure where the doctor goes after the stones through the mouth and down into the stomach and into the intestine. Sheldon made it through the procedure okay. He called our house shortly after being released that evening. He and his wife, Orpha, were planning to go out to have dinner. However, later that evening at the hotel he developed stomach pain and had to go back to the hospital. He had developed pancreatitis and had to be rehospitalized. I didn't know about it until yesterday when I tried to call him, and his son, Matthew, told me about the problem. I called his hospital room and talked with Orpha last night. She said he has had a very rough week with no food allowed and a lot of pain. I called again this evening and talked with Sheldon for about 30 seconds. He was very weak, but Orpha says he seems to be doing a little better today. If he continues to improve he may get to come home sometime next week, but the doctor says if he doesn't show some marked improvement, he may have to go into intensive care. If anyone would like to call and check on him tomorrow or later, you can reach his room by dialing 1 434 982-1364. Orpha is staying with him and will take the call. I don't have his mailing address there, but If he continues to improve I doubt that cards or letters would have time to reach him before he is released. Let's hope that is the case. If he isn't released soon I will get the address and post it. Roger Mayhorn Compton Mt
