Hi All, Tomorrow is the Thanksgiving Window Watch Bird Count. Anyone can participate. To participate in the count just imagine a 15 foot circle around your bird feeders, bird bath, anywhere you think birds will be and count the number of birds of each species that come into and above that circle for an hour. If a bird flies over the circle it gets counted inside. Just don't count the same birds more than once. I have attached the form that tells you how to do the count and it has the list of birds you are likely to see. (ignore that the form says 2008, or change it with an ink pen) You just put down the number next to the bird name. There is also a column where you can enter birds that are seen outside the circle and a place to add in other species that you see that may not be on the list. The form also has the address where you can mail it when the count is complete. It doesn't matter where you live (Ky, VA, TN) or where you are on Thanksgiving Day, you can still participate in the count at any location. If you can, please take the time on Thanksgiving Day and do this count. Let's see how many different species we can get for the day. I would also appreciate it if you would send me a copy of your count so I can keep a record of which species are found in different areas. If anyone has a problem printing out this form send me an email and I will try sending it in a different format. Have a great Thanksgiving Day, Roger Mayhorn Compton Mt
