[bcbirdclub] Thrushes, Vireos, Warblers and Tanagers

I had 50 species today here on our property on Compton Mountain. I counted 5
vireo species: White-eyed, Yellow-throated, Blue-headed, Philadelphia and
Red-eyed. I also found Gray-cheeked, Swainson's and Wood Thrushes. I had 8
warbler species: Black-and-white, Hooded, American Redstart, Cape May,
Northern Parula, Magnolia, Blackburnian and Yellow-throated.
At least 8 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks were busy with the thrushes in the
Virginia Creeper berries. The complete list is below.
This unusual Summer Tanager got my attention when it flew into the yard.
Notice how small the bill looks compared to most other Summer Tanagers. At
one point I wondered if it might be a hybrid between a Summer Tanager and a
Scarlet Tanager, if there is such a thing.
It joined the Cape May Warblers in pecking at the grapes in the mesh bag.
