Okay Jerry & Jane, I know you are just showing these photos because you want us
to see that you don’t have any snow to contend with, while we are dealing with
ice and snow and temps in the 20’s. lol
Nice photos. Glad you two are still enjoying the coast.

Jane & I got out this afternoon when she returned from taking her mother to the
doctor in Portsmouth. We just drove around a bit and didn’t do any serious
birding. We did manage to find the Painted Buntings in Manteo. They weren’t
very cooperative for photos. Attached pb.jpg is the best we could do. Down
the road at Oregon Inlet Marina, we found a Herring Gull enjoying a “blue” crab
in the parking lot (hg.jpg). At the south end of Bonner Bridge, we saw vivid
evidence of last night’s wind force after rocking and rolling in the house most
of the night (pj.jpg). Finally, we went to meet friends for dinner in
Elizabeth City. As we passed the Cotton Gin, we noticed a few Snow Geese in a
field (sg.jpg). As Don, Dan, Daryl, Dave, and Mike can attest, this is a small
fraction of the ones we saw in the field on our way to Lake Mattamuskeet on
Friday.
