I think it's interesting that you've seen vultures in Russell County this
winter.  I certainly haven't seen any out my way and there are always plenty
in the spring through fall part of the year.  I see them in Washington,
Smyth, and Tazewell counties, but not in Russell.

We have seen turkey and black vultures
in Russell County this winter.  We have observed them
quite  consistently in the Clifton farm area at the
end of the Clifton Farm Road before the junction of
Routes 540 and 770.  My unscientific and amateur
opinion is that some are wintering here because of the
mild winter. 
  
What is your opinion?
Have you seen any in Buchanan County?L
