My wife Lynda and I will host our annual Warbler event at our home this year on Saturday, September 12. That should be just at the peak for migrating warblers in this area. For those who would like to attend you must contact us and reserve a spot on the guest list since we can only handle so many birders at once. I wish we could take everyone who is interested, but too many birders scare the birds and neither birds nor birders would enjoy the day. We have already been in contact with some birders who have been here previously and they have requested to be added to the list, but there are still several spots available. We serve a free lunch to those who attend, and some of those attending bring great side dishes and delicious desserts. All we ask is that you bring your own drink and lawn or camp chair. The birds do the rest. For those who plan to stay overnight in the area the Grundy Comfort Inn offers a $69.99 per night birders rate, but to receive that rate you have to call that Comfort Inn directly at 276 935-5050.
