I received an e-mail from Larry Pinson in Whitley, KY telling me that he had a
Whip-poor-will calling near his house yesterday evening. Coincidently, I also
heard one in our backyard just at dusk that was really loud.
There has also been one calling almost every night at the Mountaintop Golf
Course about two miles from our house. That's a bird I haven't been hearing on
a regular basis in the last few years and it's good to know some are around
this year.
A White-eyed Vireo was singing in the yard yesterday and a Kentucky Warbler was
singing from down in the woods.
