This is interesting. I had many students who probably couldn't have solved the problem of the three tubes. Heck, in another year or two, I probably won't be able to solve it. However, I think the statement, "The New Caledonian crows (Corfus moneduloides) are the only nonprimates that make tools in the wild." might be challenged. Check the article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tool_use_by_animals. It lists several instances of "tool making" by nonprimate species, including other birds, in the wild.
