Started the day off this morning birding with Roger Mayhorn at his home. As usual there were avians-a-plenty at the Mayhorn bird sanctuary, with one of the highlights being my first Kentucky Warbler. After lunch we headed to the area Roger calls "The Flat", where we were treated to an unusual midday sighting of a Barred Owl. We also used my iPod to spark a territorial dispute between two Common Yellowthroats, another lifebird for me. I had a great time with many birds and I know Roger will post a list of them later. Later this evening my daughters and I checked the bluebird boxes on the Early White Trail and I am pleased to report that after the first round of nesting we've seen 36 bluebirds fledged and the boxes are filling up again as fast as we can clean the old nests out. I'm so glad we were offered a chance to monitor these boxes for we always look forward to it every week. Hope to see many of you tomorrow at the RCBC Cove trip. I hope to get at least one lifebird as a don't yet have a Bobolink. Daryl Owens
