I agree. But there's one problem with even Bernie and a good many of his
followers. They are not talking about making fundamental changes in our foreign
policy. There are people who are, people who talk and write about how the US
must stop trying to run the world, must withdraw from all its military posts,
must join the group of nations who just signed the non- nuclear treaty which it
and the other nuclear nations boycotted, must stop selling arms to other
nations, must stop supporting dictatorships throughout the world, etc. If the
US doesn't change its international policy, huge amounts of money needed for
our infrastructure, our people, our conversion to clean energy, will continue
to be siphoned off to war which means that all of us will continue to be held
captive by the corporations that manufacture death. So I appreciate the
desperate fight of the left wing of the Democratic Party. But I deplore the
lack of vision or is it courage, which prevents Bernie Sanders and the rest to
say, "Get out of the Middle East and stop increasing tensions with Russia and
China".

Mark Penn is a Horses Ass! Period. End of discussion.
Move to the Center? Only a Horses Ass could come up with that sort of
strategy. Now is the time for bold action. Working men and women need to
reach for the impossible, dream dreams of Good Days and security, and most of
all, Full Citizenship.
Notice who the uncrowned leader of the Democratic Party is? Bernie Sanders.
Let's leave the safety of the Center and support Bernie and those eager young
people who dare to believe that America can become in reality what we have
falsely been told it was.

Hi all,
Check out this boatload of crap! Penn wants Democrats to move “back to
the center”. I agree with green, the author of the piece that
democrats need to move further to the left. Look at the big crowds
that Sanders got which outnumbered Clinton’s crowds by a longshot!
WE’ve been to the center and it was not a good place to be given
NAFTA, welfare reform, the crime bill, elimination of Glass-Steagall, etc.
Seems to me we haven’t had a loud, proud left since Robert Kennedy ran
for president.
I probably shouldn’t have used the word we in reference to the
Democratic Party since I happen to believe that most of its leadership
is every bit as corrupt as the leadership of the Republicans.

Robert...Well, this is friggin' ridiculous.
Pollster Mark Penn, who works for big corporations and led Hillary
Clinton's
2008 campaign into the ground, has some advice for Democrats.
In a New York Times op-ed called "Back to the Center, Democrats," he
writes...
The path back to power for the Democratic Party today, as it was in
the 1990s, is unquestionably to move to the center and reject the
siren calls of the left, whose policies and ideas have weakened the party.
Candidates inspired by Senator Bernie Sanders, Senator Elizabeth
Warren and a host of well-funded groups have embraced sharply leftist ideas.
Here's the truth: Polling shows that a majority of Democratic,
Independent, and even Republican voters support a Medicare-For-All
public option, expanding Social Security benefits, debt-free college,
jailing Wall Street bankers who broke the law, and taxing the rich.
Let's prove it! Can you chip in $10 to help us pay for new
swing-district polling to show top Democratic candidates that they
should reject Mark Penn's corporate advice -- and follow the lead of
Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders? Click here.

Right now, Democratic congressional leaders Chuck Schumer and Nancy
Pelosi are deciding what messaging to recommend candidates run on in
2018. That's why Mark Penn and others are trying to work the refs. We
cannot let them win.

In his op-ed, Penn preached budget cuts and bipartisan compromise.
OMG! Are Republicans paying this guy to advise Democrats on how to lose?
Voters are sick and tired of small-bore, uninspiring, and right-wing
messages. They demand a Democratic Party that fights for working people.
Let's prove it. We need to raise at least $10,000 to do new
swing-district polling. Can you chip in $10 today so we can show
candidates why they should follow Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders into
battle? Click here.
