All CLGers please read, regarding Google's censorship of this newsletter
Dear CLG Readers,

Here is a 'self-censored' resend of today's CLG Newsletter, as the Deep State nut-jobs running Google relegated the original edition to the sp*m bin. It
is interesting to note that I checked CLG's mail server IP via MxToolbox, and there is currently NO blacklisting of that IP. Ergo, it is GOOGLE, on its
OWN, deciding that YOU should not receive this newsletter. Note: I had to remove several stories in this 'revised' edition, in order to try to circumvent
Google's content sentinels.

It is manifest to me -- and should be by now to any thinking person -- that it is time to take down these 'big tech tyrants.' I am really sick of spending
over TWENTY HOURS compiling the stories for a newsletter, only to have globalist sacks of garbage decide that YOU shouldn't be able to read 'certain material.'
If you want the unexpurgated version, please write lori at legitgov.org, and I will forward it to you.

Thank you. Apologies if the original reached you through a non-Google service, and that this is a double. --Lori Price, Editor

Trump: I will deliver State of the Union 'when the shutdown is over'
 | 23 Jan 2019 | President Trump said late Wednesday that he would deliver his State of the Union address after the ongoing partial government shutdown
is over. "As the Shutdown was going on, [Speaker] Nancy Pelosi asked me to give the State of the Union Address," Trump wrote in a tweet. "I agreed. She
then changed her mind because of the Shutdown, suggesting a later date. This is her prerogative - I will do the Address when the Shutdown is over." Trump's
move to delay delivering the annual address came hours after Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)
said she would block him
from delivering the State of the Union in the House chamber until the government reopens. The president was scheduled to deliver the speech on Jan. 29.

Taliban Used US-Made Humvee in Ambush That Killed Dozens
 | 22 Jan 2019 | A lethal Taliban attack on an Afghan intelligence compound made use of a stolen Humvee to storm the compound's gates and conduct a suicide
bombing, illustrating how the US effort to arm counterterrorism forces ultimately provides weapons to terrorist groups. The Monday attack featured a suicide
bomber crashing into a training compound belonging to Afghanistan's intelligence service and Taliban fighters firing at the compound. Approximately 120
Afghan security forces have been
reported dead,
though the Washington Post notes Afghanistan's spy agency has not released casualty information.

Venezuelan army disavows self-proclaimed leader, will defend national sovereignty - defense minister
 | 24 Jan 2019 | The Venezuelan military will not accept a president imposed by "dark interests," Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino said after Washington
and a number of its allies recognized a lawmaker as the new leader in Caracas. The army will continue to defend the constitution and national sovereignty,
Padrino said on Wednesday afternoon, hours after opposition lawmaker Juan Guaido was proclaimed interim president by the National Assembly, in a direct
challenge to President Nicolas Maduro. Bolivia declared "solidarity with the people of Venezuela and brother Nicolas Maduro" in resisting the "claws of
imperialism" in South America, President Evo Morales tweeted.

US refuses to withdraw diplomats from Venezuela, vows 'appropriate action' if they're harmed
 | 24 Jan 2019 | US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has refused to pull diplomats from Caracas, arguing the government that severed diplomatic ties with
the US is not legitimate and threatening 'appropriate actions' if anyone is endangered. Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro declared all US diplomats
persona non grata on Wednesday, after Washington recognized opposition leader Juan Guaido as the country's president. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman
Maria Zakharova said the US "handpicking" of a government in Caracas perfectly illustrates the true Western sentiments toward international law, sovereignty
and non-interference in internal affairs of states.

Venezuela breaking diplomatic relations with US after its attempt to stage coup - President Maduro
 | 23 Jan 2019 | Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro said Caracas is breaking off diplomatic relations with the US, giving American diplomats 72 hours
to leave the country, after Donald Trump recognized the opposition leader as interim head. Maduro announced the move to a large crowd of cheering supporters
from a balcony of the presidential Miraflores Palace in Caracas, shortly after the US, and then several Latin American countries, decided to recognize
the opposition leader Juan Guaido as Venezuela's interim president.

Trump recognizes US-backed head of Venezuela's opposition Juan Guaido as country's interim president
 | 23 Jan 2019 | US President Donald Trump has recognized Venezuela's opposition leader Juan Guaido as interim president in a provocative move against
the elected government of Nicolas Maduro. "Today, I am officially recognizing the President of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Juan Guaido, as the Interim
President of Venezuela," Trump said in statement. He called the Maduro government "illegitimate" [?] and "directly responsible for any threats" posed to
the Venezuelan people. He added he would use "the full weight of United States economic and diplomatic power to press for the restoration of Venezuelan
democracy" and encouraged other governments in the Western Hemisphere to also recognize Guaido.

Maduro orders 'total revision' of Venezuela-US diplomatic ties after Pence calls for regime change
 | 23 Jan 2019 | Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has ordered a revision of diplomatic relations with the US after the White House has openly urged
the opposition to unite and overthrow the "dictator with no legitimate claim to power." Ahead of the mass street protests against Maduro on Wednesday,
called by the opposition-led National Assembly, US Vice President Mike Pence released a video message reaffirming unwavering support for a regime change
in Venezuela...Slamming the speech as shameless US meddling in his country's internal affairs, Maduro in response promised his supporters to announce specific
measures against Washington in the coming hours. "Enough of aggressions and conspiracies, enough is enough!" said Maduro, rejecting the "imperialist interventionism"
and open calls for coup d'état that he called unprecedented in the 200-year history of US-Venezuela relations.

White House announces second Trump-Kim summit
 | 18 Jan 2019 | The White House announced Friday that a second summit will take place between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong
Un in February. The announcement came after Trump met with Kim Yong Chol, North Korea's lead negotiator on nuclear talks, for more than 90 minutes in the
Oval Office and discussed "denuclearization and a second summit, which will take place near the end of February," according to press secretary Sarah Sanders.
"The President looks forward to meeting with Chairman Kim at a place to be announced at a later date," she added.

Damascus Threatens to Respond to Israeli Attack With Strike on Tel Aviv Airport
 | 23 Jan 2019 | Permanent Representative of the Syrian Mission to the United Nations said that Damascus might respond to Israeli airstrike on Damascus
airport with a "symmetric" strike on the Tel Aviv airport. Permanent Representative of the Syrian Arab Republic to the United Nations Bashar Jaafari said
that it was time that the United Nations Security Council "took action to stop constant Israeli attacks on Syrian territories", adding that Damascus might
exercise its right for self-defence and respond to the Israeli attack on Damascus Airport with "symmetric" strike on Tel Aviv airport.

Reddit User Claimed Inside Info 3 Weeks Ago About Yesterday's Attack on US Soldiers in Syria, Predicted False Flag
 | 17 Jan 2019 | On December 19, President Donald Trump announced a complete withdrawal of American troops from Syria. This announcement was unexpected
and extremely controversial. Ten days later a Reddit user "Lone_Traveller" posted...claiming to have insider information that the next few weeks would
see an attack on American troops in Manbij. This surprise attack would allegedly kill multiple troops with the goal of blaming Assad and disrupting withdrawal
of troops from Syria. The
archived post:
US Soldiers will be killed in Syria in the coming weeks. Hello Everyone, Not sure where else to post this. But the insider word in the intelligence community
is that several US Soldiers in Syria will be killed in the coming days or weeks. A small operation in the Manbij area will include IEDs and sniper fire
killing several US operators. The ultimate goal is to blame the operation on SAA soldiers from Assad's forces. Thus creating public outcry and forcing
the US to stay in the area...

First responder in Skripal poisoning turns out to be Britain's most senior military nurse
 | 21 Jan 2019 | Sergei and Yulia Skripal were given first aid by the British Army's most senior nurse, who just happened to be nearby, according to a
new report -- adding further intrigue to the highly controversial case. The latest development in the Salisbury poisoning affair will fuel the claims of
skeptics, who don't believe the official British narrative. UK authorities have claimed that the former double agent and his daughter were targeted by
the Russian government in a bizarre failed assassination plot involving a military-grade nerve agent. It was
previously reported
by British media that the first person to provide medical assistance to the Skripals after they collapsed on a bench in Salisbury was "an off-duty nurse
who had worked on the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone." [Yeah, right!] However, the healthcare professional turned out to be not just any nurse. She was
Colonel Alison McCourt, a veteran service member who currently
holds the position
of chief nursing officer in the British Army. [Sounds like an obvious MI6/Deep State false flag to me.]

US officials to ask Ecuador embassy staff about Assange visitors
 | 18 Jan 2019 | US investigators will on Friday begin to question diplomatic staff who were stationed at the Ecuadorian embassy in London during WikiLeaks
founder Julian Assange's years-long stay about his visitors, according to the whistleblower group. It follows international subpoenas from the US Department
of Justice, which is probing a report that President Donald Trump's disgraced former 2016 campaign chairman Paul Manafort held secret talks there with
Assange, Wikileaks said. The Justice Department, which declined to comment on the matter, wants to talk to six staff members from the embassy and will
start to interview them in the Ecuadorian capital Quito on Friday, it added.

1000s of police on guard as Yellow Vests hit streets in France for 10th week in a row
 | 19 Jan 2019 | For the 10th week in a row, Yellow Vest protesters filled the streets of Paris and other cities in France, with thousands of police standing
guard. Earlier, President Emmanuel Macron launched his "national debates" on the crisis. Around 27,000 people had joined the protests across the country
by midday on Saturday, the Interior Ministry said. In Paris, the Yellow Vest occupied the Champs-Elysees and the Esplanade des Invalides near the nation's
parliament... Some protesters brought cardboard coffins, in memory of the people who have died since the beginning of the protests (the majority was killed
in traffic accidents during road blockades). They marched under a large banner reading "Citizens in danger."

'Radicalized' man arrested in FBI sting after 'planning White House suicide attack using IED and anti-TANK rocket'
--He allegedly planned to use an improvised explosive device and anti-tank rocket in a suicide attack on the White House --Also wanted to attack Washington
Monument, Lincoln Memorial and an unnamed synagogue in the city | 17 Jan 2019 | Authorities in Georgia arrested a man Wednesday they say was planning to
attack the White House. An FBI agent's affidavit says 21-year-old Hasher Jallal Taheb of Cumming was arrested in a sting Wednesday after he traded his
car for weapons. He's charged with attempting to damage or destroy a building owned by the U.S. using fire or an explosive. U.S. Attorney Byung J. 'BJay'
Pak says Taheb planned to use an improvised explosive device and anti-tank rocket. The affidavit says Taheb planned to die in the attack.

Georgia man plotted attack on White House, authorities say
--Authorities also said he planned to travel to the Islamic State territory but acknowledged he didn't have a passport. | 16 Jan 2019 | Federal authorities
on Wednesday arrested a metro Atlanta man they said was plotting to attack the White House but instead got entangled with the FBI. Hasher Jallal Taheb,
21, of Cumming, was taken into custody in Gwinnett County while allegedly trying to exchange his vehicle for explosives. He later appeared in court in
downtown Atlanta in the case brought by the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force. Authorities said Taheb was acting alone and they made no accusation that
he had ties to any terrorist group. He was arrested after a tip from a resident who said the young man had been radicalized.

White House expresses 'support' for Covington Catholic students
 | 22 Jan 2019 | The White House has reached out to Covington Catholic High School students after video of an encounter between students from the school
and Omaha Nation elder Nathan Phillips stirred a national debate. "We've reached out and voiced our support" for the students, White House press secretary
Sarah Sanders told reporters Tuesday evening. She continued, "Certainly no one understands better than this President when the media jumps to conclusions
and attacks you for something you may or may not have done." The Covington Catholic High School students
were criticized
when a brief video surfaced on Friday showing them wearing Make America Great Again hats and [not] mocking Phillips during the school's annual trip to
a March for Life rally in Washington. A second video surfaced on Sunday showing another group, who identify themselves as members of the Hebrew Israelites,
taunting students with disparaging and vulgar language before the encounter with the Native American.

Apologies Roll in for Catholic School Protesters as Fuller Picture of Events Emerges
 | 20 Jan 2019 | It was the hate crime of the century. Or so some in the media appeared to think, judging by the condemnations and mass hysteria that followed
initial footage of a group of Covington Catholic High School students -- some of whom were wearing MAGA hats -- supposedly harassing an older Native American
man. Except, what may have seemed to be one thing at first turned out to be
something else altogether
...As details emerged, some individuals and outlets who had been quick to condemn the students retracted their words and even apologized.

Special counsel issues rare statement disputing BuzzFeed's Cohen report
 | 18 Jan 2019 | Special counsel Robert Mueller's office issued a rare statement Friday disputing a report from BuzzFeed News that President Trump had
told his former lawyer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress. "BuzzFeed's description of specific statements to the Special Counsel's Office, and characterization
of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen's Congressional testimony are not accurate," special counsel spokesman Peter
Carr said in a statement obtained by The Hill on Friday night.

'Not Accurate:' Mueller team disputes BuzzFeed report claiming Trump told Cohen to lie
 | 19 Jan 2019 | Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office on Friday issued a rare statement disputing a bombshell news report [by
plagiarizer Jason LIEopold]
claiming President Trump directed Michael Cohen to lie about the timing of discussions over a proposed Trump Tower project in Moscow. "BuzzFeed's description
of specific statements to the Special Counsel's Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen's
Congressional testimony are not accurate," Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller's office, said Friday. In a story published Thursday, BuzzFeed cited two
unnamed federal law enforcement officials involved in an investigation on the matter who said Cohen acknowledged to Mueller's office that he was instructed
by Trump in 2017 to lie to Congress about the now-abandoned real estate deal to build a Trump Tower in Russia.

Trump attorney dismisses report alleging president told Cohen to lie to Congress; Dems call for investigation
 | 18 Jan 2019 | A report alleging that President Trump instructed his former personal attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about a shuttered real
estate deal -- to build a Trump Tower in Moscow -- drew a quick dismissal from Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, but had Democrats calling for an investigation.
The allegations were detailed in a BuzzFeed report published Thursday night. It cited two unnamed federal law enforcement officials involved in an investigation
on the matter who said Cohen acknowledged to Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office that he was instructed by Trump in 2017 to lie to Congress about negotiations
to build the tower in Moscow. "If you believe Cohen, I can get you a great deal on the Brooklyn Bridge," Giuliani said in response to the report.

The Clinton machine flooded the FBI with Trump-Russia dirt...until agents bit
 | 22 Jan 2019 | ...In 2016, Hillary Clinton's machine eventually got the FBI to bite on an uncorroborated narrative that Donald Trump and Russia were
trying to hijack the presidential election. Between July and October 2016,
Clinton-connected lawyers,
emissaries
and apologists made more than a half-dozen overtures to U.S. officials, each tapping a political connection to get suspect evidence into FBI counterintelligence
agents' hands, according to internal documents and testimonies I reviewed and interviews I conducted. In each situation, the overture was uninvited. And
as the election drew closer, the point of contact moved higher up the
FBI chain.
It was, as one of my own FBI sources called it, a "classic case of information saturation" designed to inject political opposition research into a counterintelligence
machinery that should have suspected a political dirty trick was underway.

FISA shocker: DOJ official warned Steele dossier was connected to Clinton, might be biased
 | 16 Jan 2019 | The then-No. 4 Department of Justice (DOJ) official, Bruce Ohr, briefed both senior FBI and DOJ officials in summer 2016 about
Christopher Steele's Russia dossier,
explicitly cautioning that the British intelligence operative's work was opposition research connected to Hillary Clinton's campaign and might be biased.
Ohr's briefings, in July and August 2016, included the deputy director of the FBI, a top lawyer for then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch and a Justice official
who later would become the top deputy to special counsel Robert Mueller. At the time, Ohr was the
associate attorney general.
Yet his warnings about political bias were pointedly omitted weeks later from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant that the
FBI obtained
from a federal court, granting it permission to spy on whether the Trump campaign was colluding with Russia to hijack the 2016 presidential election.

AG pick Barr wants closer scrutiny of Silicon Valley 'behemoths'
 | 15 Jan 2019 | President Trump's pick to lead the Department of Justice, William Barr, suggested during his confirmation hearing on Tuesday that the
agency should take a closer look at tech giants' dominant market power and handling of user data [and censoring any political articles and commentary contrary
to the Deep State's agenda]. During an exchange with Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), Barr said that he wanted to better understand the dynamic between Silicon
Valley and the nation’s antitrust officials who have allowed tech companies to grow so big. Barr only said that he wanted to learn more about the DOJ's
antitrust approach and did not indicate whether he would push for a tougher stance towards Silicon Valley if confirmed.

Nancy Pelosi Charged Air Force Nearly $200k to Fly Her Family, Other Lawmakers to Italy and Ukraine
 | 21 Jan 2019 | House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's congressional delegation (CODEL) to Belgium, Egypt and Afghanistan garnered extra attention after President
Donald Trump banned her from using military aircraft, but the trip would not have been the first time she used Air Force m-ney to travel the world. Pelosi's
trip to Italy and Ukraine from July 30 to Aug. 6, 2015, cost the Air Force 184,587.81, according to
documents
released Saturday under a 2015 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit by Judicial Watch. Her delegation was made up of nine other members of Congress,
including Democratic Reps. Anna Eshoo of California and Marcia Fudge of Ohio. Four family members, including Pelosi's husband Paul Pelosi, were on the
trip.

Pelosi says she won't allow State of the Union during shutdown; Trump will 'do something in the alternative'
 | 23 Jan 2019 | House Speaker Nancy Pelosi dug in Wednesday on her call to delay the State of the Union address even after President Trump vowed to proceed
with the speech next week,
sending a curt letter
making clear she will not allow the event to take place during the government shutdown. Reacting to Pelosi's letter, Trump told reporters at the White
House "we'll do something in the alternative," suggesting a speech of some kind will still happen next week. Hours earlier, Trump had told Pelosi he was
still planning to deliver the address from the House floor. Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy also introduced a resolution to allow the State of the Union
to go forward as planned on Jan. 29. But Pelosi makes the final call, and fired back in a letter to Trump saying she would not consider what's known as
a "concurrent resolution," which is needed to allow the use of the chamber for the State of the Union.

White House planning to proceed with State of the Union, but details up in the air after Pelosi threat
 | 22 Jan 2019 | The White House is still planning to move ahead with next week's scheduled State of the Union address, but the details remain up in the
air after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi strongly urged the president to delay the speech or submit it in writing amid the government shutdown fight. According
to multiple sources, it remains unclear whether the address scheduled for Jan. 29 will in fact go forward, or what venue it would be in. The White House
is even planning for the possibility of a speech outside of Washington.

House GOP blast Pelosi for suggesting State of the Union delay
 | 16 Jan 2019 | House GOP leaders on Wednesday blasted Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) over her call to delay President Trump's State of the Union address
during the partial government shutdown, saying she should "keep her word" and asking "what is she afraid of hearing?" Republican leadership also suggested
that Trump should come to the Capitol to deliver his annual update even if she decides to rescind the formal invitation. Although Pelosi originally invited
Trump to give the speech on January 29, in a letter sent to Trump on Wednesday, Pelosi called for the address to the Joint Session of Congress to be pushed
back or delivered in writing [?!?] instead.

No SOTU till government reopens: Pelosi threatens to deplatform Trump
 | 17 Jan 2019 | House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is demanding President Donald Trump postpone his State of the Union address until after the government reopens,
threatening to use her little-known power of invitation to deplatform the president. In a
letter
sent on Wednesday, Pelosi requested Trump reschedule his speech until they can pay the Secret Service -- part of the Department of Homeland Security,
which has gone unfunded since the shutdown began 26 days ago. She used Trump's own Homeland Security secretary's words to twist the knife, quoting Kirstjen
Nielsen's insistence that "the full resources of the Federal Government...be brought to bear" for the high-security event -- then finished the job by suggesting
Trump submit the speech in writing.

Trump cancels Nancy Pelosi foreign trip citing shutdown
 | 18 Jan 2019 | US President Donald Trump has postponed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's upcoming trip to Brussels and Afghanistan, asking her to stay to
negotiate an end to the partial US government shutdown. The president was able to halt the trip by denying the use of military aircraft to Mrs Pelosi and
a delegation. On Wednesday Mrs Pelosi had urged Mr Trump to postpone his State of the Union address, amid political deadlock. "I also feel that, during
this period, it would be better if you were in Washington negotiating with me and joining the Strong Border Security movement to end the Shutdown," Mr
Trump wrote. The president added that Mrs Pelosi could proceed with the trip - which he described as a "public relations event" - using a commercial airline.

McConnell sets up votes on Thursday on competing proposals to reopen government
 | 22 Jan 2019 | The Senate will take two key votes on Thursday on competing proposals aimed at ending the ongoing government shutdown -- one backed by
Republicans and the other backed by Democrats and both likely to fail. One of the votes will be on a proposal backed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell
to fund President Donald Trump's border wall and reopen shuttered parts of the government. That legislation is in line with an offer the President proposed
over the weekend offering temporary protections for some immigrants in exchange for 5.7 billion for a border wall -- and which Democrats swiftly rejected
as they hold firm in insisting that the government should be reopened before lawmakers proceed to a debate on border security. The other vote will be on
House-passed legislation backed by Democrats to reopen the government without providing new funding for the wall.

Democrats signal they'll reject Trump shutdown proposal
 | 19 Jan 2019 | Democrats quickly rejected a proposal President Trump's to link border money to temporary protections for some undocumented immigrants
as a path out of the partial government shutdown. Trump, wants 5.7 billion for the border wall in exchange for a three-year extension of protected status
for 5.7 billion for the border in exchange for a temporary extension of protected status for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program recipients
and some Temporary Protected Status holders. But Democratic aides, rank-and-file members and Democratic leadership are panning the proposal, making it
unlikely Trump's pitch will break the weeks-long shutdown stalemate.

Trump offers immigration compromise to end partial shutdown; Dems cool to offer
 | 19 Jan 2019 | President Trump, in a televised White House address Saturday, offered Democrats a compromise package on immigration in an effort to end
the nearly monthlong partial government shutdown -- although Democrats dismissed the olive branch as a "non-starter" before Trump even spoke. Trump announced
that he was prepared to back a three-year extension of protections for 700,000 immigrants who came to the country illegally as children and were shielded
from deportation under the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, in exchange for the 5.7 billion he has requested for a barrier
on the southern border. The deal would also extend protections for 300,000 recipients of the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program -- which protects
immigrants from designated countries with conditions that prevent nationals from returning safely.

President Trump offers immigration deal to end government shutdown
 | 19 Jan 2019 | President Donald Trump discussed proposals on Saturday about security at the southern border as the standstill over his border wall continued
into its fifth week. Among the items discussed, the president proposed 800 million in urgent humanitarian assistance, 805 million for dr-g detection technology,
2,750 border agents and law enforcement officials and 75 new immigration judge teams to reduce court backlog of 900,000 cases. Additionally, the president
proposed a three year extension for those with temporary protective status.

Supreme Court allows transgender military ban to be enforced |
22 Jan 2019 | The Supreme Court handed President Trump a partial win on Tuesday, allowing the administration to temporarily enforce its restrictions on
transgender people serving in the military. The court ruled 5-4 to stay two district court orders that blocked the new policy, with the court's liberal
wing dissenting. The justices said they are waiting for the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to weigh in. The Supreme Court's decision does leave one nationwide
injunction on Trump's order in place. As a result, Pentagon officials said they cannot completely implement the new policy yet.

White House announces 51 judicial picks, including two for liberal Ninth Circuit
 | 22 Jan 2019 | The White House on Tuesday announced the re-nomination of 51 federal judicial nominees left over from the previous Congress, kickstarting
the administration's effort to install more conservative judges after GOP activists worried that such appointments had stalled. Nine of the 51 appointments
are for spots on prestigious and influential federal appellate benches, including two on the mostly liberal San Francisco-based Ninth Circuit Court of
Appeals, which President Trump has often derided as politically biased.

Trump administration to appeal ruling against 2020 census citizenship question
 | 17 Jan 2019 | The Department of Justice (DOJ)
filed a notice
Thursday declaring it is appealing a
federal judge's decision
that the addition of a citizenship question to the 2020 census would be unlawful. The notice did not give any information on the substance of the administration's
appeal, but the Justice Department had argued that Commerce Sec. Wilbur Ross had the authority to add the question to the census and that in the past,
the question had been included. Ross
first announced in March
that he would return the citizenship question to the census, saying it would better help the government enforce the Voting Rights Act.

Federal judge rules against Trump administration's push for citizenship question on 2020 Census
 | 15 Jan 2019 | A federal judge has ruled against the Trump administration's addition of a citizenship question to the 2020 Census, marking the
first major ruling
in a controversy that has pitted states and cities against top administration officials and is likely to come before the U.S. Supreme Court. Judge Jesse
M. Furman of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York [
appointed by President Barack Obama]
ordered the administration Tuesday to stop its plans to add the question to the survey. Calling Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross's decision to add the question
"arbitrary and capricious," he blasted Ross for "egregious" violations of the Administrative Procedure Act.

Professor who also serves as director of writing program: Grading based on quality is racist
--American University will host an event with a professor from a writing center which argues that American grammar is racist. [Yes, I heard that adverbs
have been attending Klan meetings!] | 18 Jan 2019 | American University in Washington, D.C. is hosting an event on Feb. 1 on "antiracist" grading with
a professor who serves as director of a writing center which argues that American grammar is a "racist," "unjust language structure." The
seminar,
titled, "Grading Ain't Just Grading: Rethinking Writing Assessment Ecologies Towards Antiracist Ends," will be led by University of Washington-Tacoma professor
[but no scholar]
Asao Inoue,
who previously published an essay titled, "
A Grade-less Writing Course that Focuses on Labor and Assessing,"
in which he argues in favor of "dispens[ing] almost completely with judgments of quality when producing course grades."

'Fox & Friends' accidentally shows graphic saying Ruth Bader Ginsburg is dead
 | 21 Jan 2019 | The hosts of "Fox & Friends" on Monday apologized for showing a graphic saying Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is dead, blaming
a control room error. The graphic, similar to those marking the deaths of other famous figures, briefly showed a photo of Ginsburg and the dates "1933-2019."
"We need to apologize. … A technical error in the control room triggered a graphic of RBG with a date on it," co-host Steve Doocy
said later in the program.

Fire damages Fox, C-SPAN, MSNBC studios
 | 20 Jan 2019 | A fire Sunday morning in Northwest Washington, D.C., damaged studios for Fox News, C-SPAN and MSNBC, and forced "Fox News Sunday" to relocate
its broadcast to a local affiliate's studio. D.C. Fire and EMS tweeted that an electrical fire broke out in the 8th floor television studio but nobody

Ebola outbreak in Eastern Congo, with at least 680 cases, is moving toward a major city
 | 19 Jan 2019 | At least 680 people have been infected with the Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It's the second-largest Ebola outbreak
in history, with 414 deaths so far, and the first Ebola outbreak in an active war zone, DRC's eastern North Kivu and Ituri provinces. But it could get
worse: Health officials this week are concerned that Ebola appears to be spreading in the direction of Goma, a major population center in DRC. Just this
week, DRC's health ministry
confirmed
four cases of the deadly virus in Kayina, a town in North Kivu, amidst fighting among rebel and militia groups.
