I just left a rally with Senator Bernie Sanders where we announced in
front of hundreds of workers that we will be introducing a bill
together to raise the minimum wage to $15 by 2024. I am excited -- and
I wanted to share the news!
The facts are clear: No one who works in a full-time job should have
to live in poverty, but right now, workers across the country are
struggling to make ends meet. And while working families are scraping
by and too often falling behind, the wealthiest Americans are getting
richer. That's bad for our economy, and it's simply wrong.
Raising the minimum wage to $15 by 2024 will help tackle this great
problem, which is why I'm so excited to work with Senator Sanders to
get this done. We need to make sure my colleagues see how many people
want to raise the minimum wage, so before we officially introduce it,
add your name now to support the Raise the Wage Act.

This is about more than just giving workers a raise: While working
families have been struggling with stagnant or declining wages since
1968 -- when the minimum wage had its peak value -- the richest 1%
have had their income grow by more than 130%. You read that right: The
richest 1% have seen a 130% income boost, while ordinary workers have
been treading water.
Raising the minimum wage to $15 by 2024 would give more than 41
million low-wage workers a raise -- increasing the wages of nearly 30
percent of the wage-earning workforce in the United States. It would
help 32% of working mothers, nearly half of all single mothers, more
than 50% of African American workers, and nearly 60% of Latino
workers.
The Raise the Wage Act is being introduced soon, but we need to show
strong support now: Add your name if you want to raise the minimum
wage to $15 by 2024.

Washington state has led the way in the fight for $15 and in
demonstrating strong pro-worker policies are good for everyone, and I
am so proud to be a voice for those of us who know that economic
growth needs to come from the middle out, not the top down.
