Could this be the beginning of the end of open communication? Moving
internet access out of the reach of working class people will impact
most of us on this list.

Trump's FCC chairman just took the first step to ending net neutrality.
Will you chip in $5 to help fight back?

Dear Carl,
Donald Trump's new FCC chairman has just declared open war on consumers
and the free and open internet.
Ajit Pai is a former Verizon lobbyist who has always opposed net
neutrality, and last week he took the first steps to get rid of it.
By quietly killing an investigation into industry practices that blatantly
violate the FCC's net neutrality rules, he sent a message to his old
bosses at Verizon and the other big telecoms that they can get away with
ignoring the law at will.^1
After Trump won, Breitbart said it meant that net neutrality is "dead."^2
If we don't fight back now, they could be right.

Attacking net neutrality isn't the only thing Trump's FCC chairman did in
his first days on the job.
He also reduced access to broadband for low-income people, handed cable
companies a windfall by protecting their cable set top box monopoly, and
scrapped a proposal to keep prison phone rates down.
And these policy changes were announced quietly on the FCC website with
virtually no public process or input.
Trump's FCC chairman fits right in with Trump's awful cabinet of
hatemongers and corporate insiders, and he won't stop unless we make him.
We're fighting back just like we have before: by using the internet to
mobilize massive grassroots support to save the internet. Will you chip in
$5?
[3]Yes, I'll chip in $5 to stop Trump's FCC chairman from
destroying net neutrality.
Thanks for standing with us,
David Segal
