I'm sure you all know about how Congress just reversed the FCC's privacy
rule and that Trump will, no doubt sign the law. And you know that this
means that your I S P will then be able to sell all of your private
information to any corporation that wants it, that you will be targeted by
all sorts of ads as one result. Well, of course, the bill hasn't been signed
yet. But this morning, I was looking for some information with Google and
when I went to do that, I was immediately targeted with an ad for a Victor
Reader Stream. It was truly eerie. How did they know I'm blind and might be
a potential customer. If they knew that, why didn't they know I already have
two VR Streams? Supposedly, there's still a way to opt out of these ads. I
could tell by what Jaws was saying to me or asking me about whether I wanted
to not see these particular ads anymore. But I couldn't tell how to do it.
Besides, if not these ads, I'm sure there'd be others.
